Technical IT Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Technical Business Development Head to lead our business development efforts with a strong technical focus. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our organization by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities that align with our technical capabilities. The Technical Business Development Head will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, leveraging their technical expertise to drive successful collaborations. Focus Areas/ Expertise - Developing business to provide support/development work for e-commerce businesses. - Developing business to provide support/development work for potential clients using Epicor/Prophet 21 as their enterprise platform. - Developing business to provide back-end support for packaging manufacturing/ distribution businesses.
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategic business development plans with a focus on technical solutions.
    • Identify and prioritize target markets, industries, and clients for technical collaboration.
  2. Market Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and competitive landscapes.
    • Analyze customer needs and industry challenges to tailor technical solutions accordingly.
  3. Client Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and propose customized solutions.
  4. Technical Expertise:
    • Stay abreast of industry advancements and technological developments.
    • Provide technical leadership and support in understanding client needs and proposing innovative solutions.
  5. Proposal Development:
    • Prepare compelling and technically sound proposals in response to client requests and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between client needs and proposed solutions.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and technical departments, to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to encourage the generation of new technical ideas.
  7. Revenue Generation:
    • Meet and exceed revenue targets through the acquisition of new clients and expansion of existing accounts.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling technical services to existing clients.
  8. Contract Negotiation:
    • Lead negotiations for contracts, partnerships, and collaborations, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
    • Collaborate with legal teams to finalize agreements.
  9. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Provide regular reports and analysis on business development activities, pipeline, and results.
    • Evaluate the success of implemented strategies and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  10. Compliance:
    • Ensure all business development activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Mitigate risks associated with technical collaborations through proper due diligence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; advanced degree (MBA or technical) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in technical business development, with a track record of success in driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of technical solutions and the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and clients.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate technical capabilities into business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant industries and markets.

Eligibility:
  • Full Time
  • Schedule: 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday (Day Shift)
  • Supplemental pay types - Yearly bonus
  • Travel requirement - Up to 25% travel (Open to Travel for customer meetings, expo's and conference
Experience:
  • Looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; an advanced degree like an MBA or technical degree is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate should have proven experience in technical business development, with a track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of technical solutions and the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and clients is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills are required, along with strategic thinking to translate technical capabilities into business opportunities.
  • The candidate should also have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and knowledge of relevant industries and markets.
Salary:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
